Hanging our stockings

The house is crammed full of Big Daddy's children tonight. Even though there are 20 years from the oldest to the youngest, they certainly do manage to have fun together and raise quite a noise. I will enjoy every minute of it I can. The silence of January will come soon enough. Big Daddy himself is making make-shift beds right now for the younger pair. We are all up past our bed times.
Colin played Christmas carols on the piano tonight without too much nagging. Shelby carried Baby D around all day, listening to "Sheby! Sheby!" Jeremy arrived with stories of roommate gift exchange. Baby D has rearranged our nativity scene so that it appears there has been an altercation with Joseph and the shepherd. Thank goodness the wise men are there to calm him down.

Oh, forget all my crankiness. Forget the anguish of finding Christmas gifts . . . and the baking . . . and the rearranged trees . . . and the Christmas Letter.

Oh, this is Christmas.
