A Poem for Tuesday

With love and thanks to Grandma Malmberg and her scrapbooks.

Swedish Nursery Rhyme
by Ruth Miller

Sleep, little willow,
Winter lingers long;
Still sleep birch and heather,
Bluebells and robin song.

Spring will come at last,
The apple tree will bloom.
Sleep on, little willow,
Winter will be over soon.

Sun eyes will look at you,
Sun arms will cradle you,
The flowers will wear
A butterfly sheen.
One more sunshine prayer,
Little willow, and you will be green.
